Conversations surrounding diversity, access and inclusion in the live music industry are becoming more urgent, and rightly so. Yet, as more venues and festivals are stepping up in wanting to provide greater levels of accessibility, there still exists some fundamental obstacles to overcome; whether it be a lack of resources, knowledge or time.
It is not just about ramps, lifts and toilets; accessibility goes beyond the obvious physical-centric elements. Accessibility and inclusion applies to a whole range of social, attitudinal and communication barriers that people with disability can experience when trying to attend live music events.
