Elder in Residence

We acknowledge the tremendous work of our Elder in Residence Uncle Kevin Starkey, in guiding us, and the invaluable support of the First Nations Conference & Festival Program Advisory Group, chaired by Cameron Costello (Quandamooka) and featuring Cerisa Benjamin (Jawoyn, Gurindiji, Warlpiri), Deline Briscoe (Yalanji), William Kepa (Kulkalgal Nation), Fred Leone (Garrwa, Butchulla, Tongan, South Sea), Dan Rennie (Larrakia, Yawuru), and Donna Woods (Bujiebara, Wakka Wakka).

#About the Artwork

“The line work is a nod to Barkindji line art which is my family's traditional style, however I wanted the work to feel like it could belong to all the Indigenous performers and speakers, so my focus was trying to show representations of earth, water and sky. I felt showing these representations could help encapsulate the many lands across the country the Indigenous performers are from.” - Jasmine Miikika Craciun
