In times of great societal and cultural upheaval and change, we could all benefit from seeking guidance and knowledge from those who have come before us. And right now, there is the opportunity for a complete cultural reset when it comes to the music industry and its relationship with it First Nations music and the Blak industry.

First Nations artists are restructuring the broader face of Australian music and in recent years, Blak excellence in Australia has become acknowledged more and more on an international level. The mainstream industry can learn a lot from the Blak industry; from its support and reverence of its elder members, to the importance laid on ensuring the history of the art and the artists is properly maintained and supported.

This panel looks to share wisdom from our Blak industry as it pertains to a great music industry reset, and identify ways both industries can collaborate in a cohesive and mutually supported manner.
