#Details

Recent years have seen the Australian media landscape change its form; both regarding digital and editorial outlets, as well as radio.

Frustrations from within the industry and the public alike when it comes to programming, a perceived lack of musical, artistic, and cultural diversity have led a new generation of producers and creatives to shake things up and breathe fresh air into a key part of the music industry economy. And in the wake of the pandemic, where the already stretched resources to fund independent voices and outlets took another hit, the resilience of a range of creators bred new inspiration for Australian media voices moving forward.

But how does a new wave of media in Australia become sustainable? And how do the long-standing broadcasters and journalists fit into this new format?

Radio broadcasters, journalists and producers gather to unpack the Australian music media industry’s recent challenges and wins and share their ideal avenues to lead towards a cohesive and representative environment to platform and support our artists.
