Carissa Nyalu

Carissa Nyalu is a Yorta Yorta Dja Dja Wurrung singer/songwriter and storyteller based on Boonwurrung Country on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia.  Carissa expresses her stories through singing in language as well as taking you on a journey to a place where you can feel her deep connection to her ancestral roots.  Carissa also works as a cultural awareness educator and has a strong passion for creating culturally safe spaces, whether that be in the music scene or in mainstream organisations and is a board director for Songlines Music Aboriginal Corporation, a peak body for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander musicians in Victoria.
